Vegan Gyudon (caramalised tofu curd ) Recipe

Gyudon (caramalised beef) on rice is a very popular Japanese dish.
I used tofu curd instead of beef to make it vegan.
It takes only 5 minutes to make so once you make it, I am sure it will become your regular dish.
It is ridiculously delicious!

Ingredients (to make 2-3 servings)
* 3 pieces tofu curd (aburaage) cut into quarters – around 50g

* 1 small onion – thinly sliced
* 1 knob of garlic – finely chopped
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 50ml SAORI Tsuyu (Seaweed) Japanese Sauce
* 1 tbsp brown sugar
* 1 cup cooked koshi/sushi rice

garnish – optional
* 1 spring onion – finely chopped
* pinch of SAORI YUZU SPICE

Vegan Gyudon Recipe

1: Simmer garlic in sesame oil until golden brown

2: Add onion to pan and continue to cook for a further few minutes

3: Meanwhile to make sauce, mix SAORI Tusyu Sauce & brown sugar in a separate dish

4: Once onion is cooked, add tofu curd and then pour on the sauce

5: Cook until tofu curd is nicely caramalised

6: Serve on rice (sushi rice goes best with this dish)

7: Garnish with spring onion and a dash of SAORI YUZU SPICE…for that extra zing!
